Results
The State of Health (SoH) is arguably the key figure. However the SoH reported by the cars BMS (Battery Management System) is not necessarily accurate. The figure given here is calculated from comparing the vehicle with thousands of other similar vehicles and using readings such as mileage, age, cell voltages etc.
The net remaining capacity in the battery (in kWh) is shown as well as an estimate on the range (WLTP) along with the values from when the car was new.
Rating
This compares the SoH with other similar vehicles to give a below average/average/above average benchmark rating.
Checks
The results of checks on key battery system components are displayed to show that the battery system is operating correctly and reliably.
Evaluation
This shows if the EV drive battery is performing as expected – if so an “AVILOO certified” status is displayed.

Energy
This shows the gross, net (nominal) and usable capacity of the battery in kWh when tested and when it was new. The gross figure includes top and bottom buffers that are there to protect the battery (and not usable). The net (nominal) figure includes any emergency buffer that might be available when the car is displaying 0% State of Charge (SoC). The usable figure is the kWh capacity from 100% to 0% SoC.
Sensors
These checks verify the accuracy and availability of voltage, current, temperature and cell voltage measurements to detect anomalies, sensor faults or erratic cell behaviour that could affect battery performance and safety.
Range
This shows the official Worldwide Harmonised Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) range which is from 100% to standstill. The typical range is a more realistic range based on the real world consumption of thousands of similar vehicles tested by AVILOO and is that of 100% to 0% State of Charge (SoC).
BMS
This section shows the State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH) as reported by the Battery Management System (BMS) and compares them with AVILOO calculated values.
The calculation accuracy checks identify deviations which help ensure data reliability and detect potential sensor errors. Issues with these can ultimately lead to reduced safety and shorter battery life.
Execution Protocol
This lists all the steps from the start of the test to its completion.
Measurements
This section provides the measured battery temperature, cell voltage, pack voltage and average current values, and warns if the values are too extreme or if there is a large spread (delta) between the minimum and maximum values. These checks enable early detection of thermal or electrical imbalances, potential safety hazards and signs of cell ageing or defects.
